How would you know if JWs do charitable (materially) or not? Could it be the left hand knows not what the right hand is doing, let alone the likes of you?

Does the Bible scare anyone else here sometimes?
by missy04 inmaybe i'm just messed up, but i get really freaked out sometimes.
i can't understand the bible,.....in some places it seems like it's saying all you have to do is one or two things, then it seems like it's saying you have to do different things to be saved.... so many different people and religions have so many different takes on the bible.
i don't know which to beleive, and it scares me that if i beleived the wrong thing that i could go to hell, or just go to sleep forever as the witnesses say.

Would you please read over all my postings here? Is there anythere there that says to you that I mean you any harm? I'm afraid someday you will look back at this and wish you'd listened. Your friend wants what is best for you - listen to her.
Whatever decision you make now will be lifealtering. You COULD return to the society someday but the likelyhood is quite small. Before you make a final decision go to one of the elders ans ask for help. Most on this site will poo-poo that idea but try it. Worry about your own future, not what any of us has to say. What have you got to lose if you are planning to leave anyway?

I appreciate your sincere attempt to reason on the issues. There really isn't a lot more to say. You are very familiar with my beliefs. I believe the F&DS class are used by Jehovah.
Yes, I know Jehovah. I know him through his word, the bible. The WTS has not usurped any position. They allow themselves to be used and guided by Jehovah.

I don't attribute my faith to men (GB). They are used by God through his holy spirit to dispense God's will. Therefore my faith is totally in God.
Missy:
We all have choices and the freedom to act as we see fit. I'm doing as I see fit. An apostate is one who speaks or acts contrary to the scriptures after having accurate knowlege. Maybe I am guilty by association, I don't know.

I don't look to the Reasoning book as an inspired book. Those are your words. I look to it as a guide to understanding the scriptures. The reason I suggested we get our answer there to your question is that it is a reference we are both familliar with.
As for my own opinion (not from the underlined text), Jesus was giving the dying man hope for a future.

I think you know the answer to that as well as I do, remembering a bit of your background. Instead of me going on and on, we could all read up on 'Paradise' in the Reasoning book, starting on page 284.
